The BSc (Hons) Accounting and Finance with Foundation Year is designed to strengthen your academic skills during the foundation stage, before progressing to in-depth study of contemporary accounting and financial practices.
This course has been developed to reflect the changing demands of the modern accounting and finance profession. You will explore key growth areas within the sector, including the increasing impact of technology such as financial technology (FinTech) and blockchain. Alongside this, you’ll develop the analytical skills required to evaluate investments and make informed financial decisions. Accounting:
The programme is accredited by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), a globally recognised professional accounting body. Course modules are mapped to ACCA standards, enabling eligible students to gain exemptions from selected ACCA examinations.In addition, the course aligns with the requirements of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), providing a strong foundation for those wishing to pursue management accounting qualifications. Graduates may be considered for exemptions, subject to assessment by CIMA.
The degree is also accepted as an approved entry qualification for the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) programme, allowing graduates to apply for CFA candidacy after completion of their studies.
